MediaToURL treats abuse reports as an operational safety signal. The goal is to restrict credible harmful delivery quickly, preserve enough information to investigate, and give operators a clear path to remove confirmed violations without automatically deleting lawful content because of a single unverified complaint.
Use the structured Report Abuse form for a hosted MediaToURL URL. For urgent safety or security concerns, contact [email protected] with the exact URL and a safe description. Do not attach the reported file, suspected malware, illegal content, passwords, or unnecessary personal documents.
1. What to Report and What to Include
Reports may cover malware or harmful software, phishing or impersonation, child-safety concerns, non-consensual intimate content, threats or harassment, doxxing or exposed personal data, fraud, copyright or trademark misuse, spam or search manipulation, and other violations of the Acceptable Use Policy.
Include the complete MediaToURL direct URL, share page, download URL, variant URL, or verified custom-domain URL; the closest category; a clear explanation; and safe evidence such as a screenshot, date, rights information, or browser warning. Contact details help us request clarification but are not required for every report.
Only submit information needed for review. Do not open a suspicious file more than necessary, download suspected malware, or send a second copy of illegal or sensitive content. If someone faces immediate physical danger, contact emergency services or the appropriate authority as well as MediaToURL.
2. Triage and Temporary Delivery Restrictions
Reports are checked for URL validity, category, urgency, duplication, and the risk of continued delivery. Credible child-safety, active malware, phishing, non-consensual intimate content, serious threats, and similar urgent reports may cause immediate restriction before the full review is finished.
Repeated independent reports may trigger a temporary block under the current triage rules, including when three or more distinct reporters flag the same asset in a rolling 24-hour period. This is a protective hold for operator review, not an automatic legal or factual conclusion.
A restriction is applied to the underlying asset identity and may stop direct bytes, share pages, variants, transformations, downloads, folder delivery, and verified custom-domain delivery. Changing a link format or adding a query string is not a way around the restriction.
3. Human Review and Enforcement Outcomes
Authorized operators review the report, available technical signals, file and link state, account or workspace context, prior reports, and any safe evidence. Reports may be cleared, merged, kept open for more information, or escalated to a legal, security, or safety process.
If a violation is confirmed, MediaToURL may keep delivery disabled, quarantine or permanently remove the asset and its versions, thumbnails, variants, and generated outputs; disable related links; restrict uploads or bandwidth; suspend or terminate the account or workspace; revoke API and integration credentials; block related identifiers; and preserve limited records.
MediaToURL may contact rights holders, service providers, law enforcement, child-safety organizations, or other appropriate authorities when required or appropriate. We may withhold investigation details when disclosure would expose a reporter, reveal detection methods, compromise evidence, or conflict with law.
4. Review, Appeals, and False Reports
An uploader may request review through [email protected] with the affected URL, account context, and evidence of ownership, permission, or mistaken identification. A review request does not automatically restore a restricted file while a serious safety, legal, or security concern remains open.
Reports must be submitted in good faith. False, retaliatory, automated, coordinated, or knowingly misleading reports may be rejected, rate-limited, recorded, or associated with restrictions on the reporting account or network. A lawful disagreement should not be disguised as a safety emergency.
We do not guarantee a response time, a particular enforcement outcome, or disclosure of confidential investigation details. Urgent reports are prioritized according to the risk described and the information available to verify it.
5. Records, Privacy, and Legal Requests
We may retain the report, URL or asset identity, category, reason, contact information, security-derived rate-limit data, moderation actions, and limited supporting records for investigation, fraud prevention, appeals, legal compliance, and accountability. Access is limited to authorized personnel and service providers with a need to support the process.
A report does not authorize the reporter to access a private asset, identify an uploader, obtain account information, or receive confidential investigation material. We may disclose information only when required or permitted by applicable law, a valid legal request, or a safety need.
6. Contact
Use the Report Abuse page for normal intake. For urgent safety or security concerns, email [email protected] with the subject 'URGENT: MediaToURL Safety Report', the exact URL, and a safe description. Do not send live malware, illegal content, passwords, API keys, or unnecessary personal documents.
